Dr. Laurinda ‘Laurie’ Wessel, beloved veterinarian and pillar in the equine community, passed away on Feb. 16th, 2025 in her home. Laurie’s lifelong love for animals, particularly horses, led her to veterinary medicine, which she practiced for nearly 40 years. In 1998 she started her own practice Cross River Veterinary Service and since then mentored many technicians, veterinarians, and horse enthusiasts.
A community Celebration of Life will be held outside at the East Bangor Park (Park Rd, East Bangor, PA 18013) pavilion at 2pm on Sat. May 10th, 2025. The family invites everyone who has been part of Laurie’s life to attend.
The later part of the event will include a Quaker-style gathering where everyone is welcomed and encouraged to listen to and share (if comfortable) fond memories and thoughts of Laurie. We’re looking forward to coming together soon to honor, remember, and celebrate Laurie and her life.
